Instructor Achievements
Awarded a 2004-05 Math Undergraduate Scholarship from the School of Mathematics, University of Minnesota.
Awarded a Dow Outstanding Junior Award from the Dow Chemical Company.
Awarded a National Merit Scholarship.
Awarded the Merck Index Award for "outstanding scholastic achievement in organic chemistry," the Frank Louk Scholarship from the IT department, and the Robert C. Byrd Scholarship from the Minnesota Department of Education.
Awarded a Fulbright Memorial Fund Teaching Fellowship to travel to Japan in June 2005 to gain insight into Japanese education and culture. Awarded the first ever Twin Cities Marathon Community Spirit Award on May 6, 2005 –worked with Oxbow Creek Elementary students in Champlin, MN, encouraging them to run during their recess. During 2004-05, 23 students ran more than 100 miles on the school track. Three students ran more than 300 miles during the school year!
Awarded the University of Minnesota Department of Education and Human Development Service Fellowship for Fall semester 2004 and the ETS Recognition of Excellence for outstanding performance on the Praxis II exam (Math content knowledge).
Awarded the Multicultural Teacher Development Project Scholarship from the College of Education at the University of Minnesota, and the Math/Science Matters in Urban Teacher Preparation Scholarship from the College of Education and the Minneapolis Public School. |
