Scholarships
Scholarships are available for UMTYMP and all Saturday Enrichment Programs. Their purpose is to provide partial or full support for students who have genuine financial need. Decisions will be made using the Minnesota State guidelines shown below. The amount of the award will be based on MathCEP's assessment of the request, which should include the information below, and available funds. Some allowances may be based on individual circumstances.
Each request will be approved for one academic year only. The award notification will be mailed to the registrant's current home address.
To Apply:
- Submit a 1-page letter with your registration form providing the following information:
- (UMTYMP students only) UMTYMP students should specify if they need a book, calculator, and/ or tuition scholarship. If an UMTYMP student qualifies for a calculator scholarship, UMTYMP will provide the calculator -- there is no reimbursement for calculators purchased by student.
- (UMTYMP students only) Past academic performance of the student, and plans for the current year.
- Financial reasons for the request. These should be concise and include special financial circumstances or situations, especially when financial guidelines are not met.
- Any additional information that might be helpful, such as health, employment problems, etc.
- Financial documentation must be attached to the letter. A copy of the most recent federal income tax form (1040), showing the name of the student applying for the scholarship as a dependant, is required. If parents file taxes separately, both federal income tax forms are required.
